TEKST

VERSE 1
You knew me from the start
Before I was born
You raised me up
In a Christian home
We've built quite a thing
You and I
But I just dipped my toes in
I want the ocean
Deep and wide
Burning fire

VERSE 2
When I was twelve
I made a choice
Got buried in water
Found my true home
I went to some camps
I got a glance
You gave me scriptures of
Open doors
And I was called
To be your flower
Spread your fragrance
Through art, songs and fire

PRE-CHORUS 1
But sometimes I wonder
If you are still there
Do you remember me
Do you still care

CHORUS
Talk to me
I’ll talk to you
Whisper gently in my ear
Talk to me
I’ll talk to you
Let me hear you loud and clear

VERSE 3
Went through a lot
But I ended up
At a Bible school
New flame in my heart
Traveled the world
I preached your word
I had no roots
Was tired, lost and burned
Something died
Deep inside
Childhood trauma
Relationship drama

PRE CHORUS 2
It’s been years and years
Working through the pain
Layers torn away
Finding who I am

CHORUS
Talk to me
I’ll talk to you
Whisper gently in my ear
Talk to me
I’ll talk to you
Let me hear you loud and clear

BRIDGE
I gaze at the stars
And the moonlight above me
Longing for something
That I can’t explain
Just speak through the Bible
Through people or symbols
Through music or science
Or writings on the wall
Just talk to me

ENDING
Just talk to me
